How I Began.

The sculpture above is one of the first ceramic works I ever made...excluding kindergarten. It was created during my sophomore year of high school when I took a ceramics class, honestly expecting the class to be an easy-A elective. Fortunately, it kind of was, but the class exceeded my expectations & my passion blossomed more than I could have ever anticipated. This is all thanks to my high school teacher, Mrs. Carrie Brooks. Her enthusiasm for ceramics and art was truly contagious. She possessed such a talent for unlocking the creative potential in each of her students. With her unwavering support & insightful guidance, I was able to hone my skills and build the confidence that continues to serve me today. Mrs. Brooks' compassion and skill she has as an educator has had a profound impact on me and words cannot express my gratitude or appreciation. I will always hold her in high regard as one of the most influential mentors I have had the privilege of learning from.
Don't worry about being successful, but work toward being significant and the success will naturally follow.

This is my other personalized box I made my senior year of high school. However, you can tell much has changed since the one I made sophomore year that's at the top of the page. I thought would be fun if I had a corner detach like a puzzle piece and have the horseshoe piercing attachment actually move & rotate like a real piercing!
